Pros: Mapping out a user journey which everyone from techies to PMs to content writers, could understand was very important to us as a business. Most tools swung one way or the other, made for developers or made for people who didn’t care about APIs. WebEngage has the best of both worlds, and the most awesome journey builder I’ve come across as a marketer.

Cons: The pricing model discourages experimentation and creates road-blocks in terms of onboarding. For a tool that doesn’t actually send emails/messages (they have integrations with all leading senders), the pricing is too steep based on a number of active users/events you can send.

Overall: We really struggled to find an affordable automation tool for Email & SMS, that had good API support and an intuitive journey builder. WebEngage hits all the right notes for that.

It packs the punch of big automation systems like Marketo, Eloqua or Responsys. But is much cheaper and tech stack is way more startup-friendly.

Post-WebEngage, we have much better control over targeting when it comes to communication. By sending the right content in the right context, we have seen improvements all across the funnel.

What Do You Like Best?

The best of CleverTap is its features range. We use it as a complete CRM platform: user segmentation, audience building, journey campaigns, and performance tracking are some of its main capabilities.

To make it better, its customer service is thorough, attentive and very friendly.

What Do You Dislike?

It does not have a built-in SMS provider nor an e-mail provider. So these features require integration with third parties.

And, as you use it and pile up data do be stored, its services get pricier.

What Business Problems Are You Solving With The Product? What Benefits Have You Realized?

We use CleverTap throughout all of our CRM processes. User acquisition with a targeted member to member communication, activation journey campaigns, reactivation through remarketing and special offers, segmentation of specific users with specific actions, etc.

Beyond that, we use Clevertap to keep track of several KPIs and campaign performance, such as user engagement, user cohorts, AB tests, uninstalls, etc.

One major problem that it does address is the possibility to personalize the content we deliver to our users; at the same time, its intelligence selects the right time and situation to do it. The level of detail possible to manage is excellent.

Pros

Clear, clutter-free interface with the right tools for the job, everything is made to concentrate on your email marketing objectives and not how to use the tool.

I’ve been using CM for close to 10 years and have witnessed their progressive and intelligent implementations: nothing is added that you won’t really need and once it’s added it’s especially intuitive.

Add to that Campaign Monitor’s daily tips, blog posts, resources and especially their outstanding client support: you just can’t go wrong.

Cons

Hard to find anything really, maybe certain ways of implementing behavioral segments but then again maybe it’s my Marketing objectives that aren’t clear enough…

Pros

HubSpot’s a very robust tool. It contains a lot of apps that all speak to each other, which is really great if, like me, you’re on a very small marketing team and have to prioritize time as much as possible when you’re responsible for so many different tasks.
The content optimization tools are excellent (in-post SEO help, campaign strategy tools, keyword difficulty/traffic info). The automation functionality is also stupendous and there are various opt-in/opt-out capabilities so that you can really tailor the UX of your lead generation to fit your persona’s buying habits, THE LAW, and your own company ethos regarding data collection.
What I will say to those considering HubSpot for their own organization is to use as many apps as possible and “go all-in” – otherwise inbound isn’t going to be as effective as you want it to be.

Cons

I’d love to see improved cross-domain functionality in the Enterprise edition. It’d be great to monitor keyword results on multiple subdomains as opposed to just the target domain.
I also look forward to the social monitoring functionality moving beyond Twitter.
While there are a lot of resources available (the academy, community, email support) the learning curve can be steep for those on the startup program who don’t get a designated account manager.

If you need to send a marketing message, a coupon for tracking purposes or want to hear back directly from your customers, this is the best software on the market for those needs! I suggest creating a campaign around texting and offer discounts and coupons with codes you can track to see when is the best time for delivery, etc. and that is so super easy with EZ!

This software is so very easy to use – for any level of marketing experience. Anyone trying to reach a mass amount of customers with one simple message should really consider texting software and EZ Texting is the best out there, hands down!

I would like for there to be a way to send pictures universally through this software and there currently is not.
