The company website doesn’t try to put a gloss on its service by talking about ‘value’ products or a ‘budget’ range. It gets straight to the point: Hostinger is all about ‘cheap web hosting’.
The range starts with a ‘Single Shared Hosting’ plan aimed at home users. This is currently on offer for $0.80 per month. This plan limits you to a single website and subdomain, 10GB of drive space, 100GB bandwidth a month and just a single email address. An Easy Website Builder makes it simple to get started, though, and there are one-click installers for WordPress and other popular apps. The package is probably enough to run a simple personal or family site.
12. GoDaddy
GoDaddy’s brand is easily one of the most well-known domain registrars and hosting provider on the market.
But is their reputation well deserved when it comes to performance and delivering fast page speed?
While their page loading speed is relatively fast, just above 500ms, their uptime isn’t ideal – 99.97%.
A glance at what they offer – a 99.99% uptime guarantee, 100GB of website storage (a lot), unmetered bandwidth and free trial for their website builder, seems like a too good deal.
But when you look at the sheer number of highly pried upsells and sneaky marketing tricks (like charging for site backups, SSL certificates, email accounts, and more), it becomes harder and harder to give credence to the brand’s reputation.

Note, however, that GoDaddy lacks cloud hosting plans, and has a skimpy number of default email accounts. Still, if you’re looking to quickly set up a website, GoDaddy has the tools you’ll need for a successful launch.

Some web hosting companies make it easy to find the product you need, but UK2’s site isn’t quite as well organised. There are highlighted plans, menus, tables, a product finder and more, but we found it hard to locate in-depth information and compare multiple products side-by-side.
Prices are higher than the big US hosts, too. The baseline Essential Hosting plan – £1 ($1.25) a month excluding VAT initially, £6 ($7.50) on renewal – looks promising at first, with a free domain name, unlimited bandwidth, web space and email addresses, and support for 10 websites. It’s good to see the excellent Softaculous one-click App installer, too. But the account is seriously hobbled with a one database maximum, even if there’s no size limit.
