According to WHO, masks should be used as a part of a comprehensive strategy of measures to suppress transmission. Use of a mask alone is not sufficient to provide an adequate level of protection against COVID-19, but wearing it will certainly help contain the spread of virus.
WHO advises people to store masks after taking off in a clean plastic bag. It should be washed every day if it’s a fabric mask. Medical mask should be disposed of in a trash bin.
1. You’ve washed a mask more than 30 times.
2. There are exposed threads, tears or holes.
3. The fabric has worn thin.
4. The straps are worn out.
5. You haven’t been washing the mask according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
6. The mask is stained.
