Personal Safety Apps For Women

10 Best Personal Safety Apps Every Woman Should Download

Every now and then, something happens that reminds us that how unsafe is the world for women when they step outside their home, or, even inside their home. They face violence, domestic abuse, and rape.

Sexual Harassment at the workplace is quite common. More exposure means more risk. Risk is everywhere.

Thankfully, there are a lot of personal safety apps that have been designed especially for women. Here’re the ten best personal safety apps for women.

1. WalkSafe

WalkSafe

The WalkSafe map visualises serious crime reports as icons. It uses verified police data published each month by Police, UK. It can’t show all the police data at once as the map would be too cluttered to read. Instead, its algorithm cycles through the most recent month of police data, refreshing the map twice per week.

The WalkSafe app also scans the road ahead when the users are out and about. Users get alerts when they walk nearby areas that have seen reports of serious crime such as knife attacks, sexual assault, mugging and pickpocketing.

Can you please bring back the options to report drunks and to place down where people are walking? I really don’t see why they were removed. There’s always a dodgy drunk guy by where my girlfriend walks to work every day and it’s unsafe that she cannot report it on the app. Thank you.

2. bSafe

Help your children stay safe and give yourself peace of mind everywhere they are or go. If SOS button is activated by voice or touch, you will receive an audio alarm and be able to see your child’s location. Everything is streamed live and audio/video recorded. If they feel unsafe, it’s easy to activate a Fake Call, Follow Me or Timer alarm and never walk alone.

Keep getting a message the system deactivated my voice alert- open app to restart. Looking for help with this. Other than that works fine. Microphone states it’s busy. Contacted support 3x with no response. Still no response from support other than a canned email. I’m about to ask for my $ back for the paid subscription.

3. LiveSafe

livesafe

No one knows more about what’s going on than the people on the ground. No one cares more about protecting the community than the people that define it. Sexual Harassment. Malfeasance. Hazardous Conditions. Phishing. Unauthorized Persons. The spectrum of issues is rivaled only by the exposure they create. Risk is everywhere.

The Mobile App is available for Android and iOS devices and can be downloaded directly to a smartphone via Google Play and iTunes, respectively.

Perfect for my safety.

4.  what3words

what3words is an easy way to identify precise locations. Every 3m square has been given a unique combination of three words: a what3words address. Now you can find, share and navigate to precise locations using three simple words.

Thousands of businesses use what3words every day. Discover the easy steps you can take right now to help people find your business easily, enable workers to locate assets and worksites quickly and collect more accurate delivery locations.

Review: GooglePlay

Shame it will only work if installed to your phone’s internal storage. It won’t run on your phone’s memory card. A big oversight for a safety app for those who have limited internet memory.

Review: GooglePlay

It’s a great app, however, my rating will drop at least 2 points when the web browser functionality is taken away. I don’t always have access to a phone while at work. I’m at work before the kids leave for school in the morning. It’s been nice to know they left the house in time and got to school safely when I can’t be with them. Please reconsider removing web browser compatibility. I’ll be switching to another app otherwise.

7. Sprint Family Locator App

Sprint Family Locator

This one works with a Sprint mobile number under the Sprint Family plan. The good news is it works on both smartphones and regular phones, and you don’t have to install any app on the phones you want to track. This locator app lets you check in on your family members on a map, in real time. You will receive a text notification when they are not where they told you they should be.

Use to let me know where everyone was at different times. Not anymore. Use to let you see actual address. No more. Boy I wish I had those features back.still good app.

8. Red Panic Button

Red Panic Button

You are in trouble? Press the Red Panic Button! You just have to set a panic number and the phone will send a SMS which contains a Google Maps link with your location (GPS or Network based coordinates).

Review: GooglePlay

Works great, but wish it allowed for a wearable Bluetooth device to trigger an alarm for fall AND button press. I wish I didn’t have to choose one or the other.

9. Kitestring

Kitestring

Kitestring is a simple, free and overprotective web app. … If you don’t respond, then the app alerts your emergency contacts. If you’re running late, you can notify the app and extend the length of your trip. Or if you get home ahead of schedule, you can check in early.
